NEOTECH, LLC is excited to release NEOVAC® D canine distemper vaccine. NEOVAC® D is a high titer, modified live, single antigen canine distemper vaccine capable of inducing protection after just one dose. There are many situations in which a single antigen canine distemper vaccine is preferred over a complex combination vaccine containing multiple antigens:

1.) Strategic booster vaccination program of adults

Some veterinarians and dog owners prefer to measure the dog’s antibody level against contagious diseases prior to vaccination. Afterwards, only vaccines against those contagious diseases in which the dog lacks protection are administered. Only a single antigen canine distemper vaccine is appropriate for a strategic booster vaccination program against canine distemper.

2.) Canine distemper outbreak in confinement facilities Research has demonstrated that a high titer single antigen modified live canine distemper vaccine is capable of inducing protection within hours of administration. During an outbreak in a shelter or kennel, a single antigen canine distemper vaccine is preferred as it induces a greater level of protection than a multi-antigen combination vaccine.

3.) Exotic species Animals other than dogs are infected with canine distemper. Ferrets, mink, fox, raccoons and skunks are all highly susceptible to canine distemper. A single antigen canine distemper vaccine can be used to induce immunity in these animals against this deadly disease.

NEOVAC® D is now available in a carton containing 25 one dose vials of vaccine. Call NEOTECH, LLC today to place an order for the only commercially available single antigen modified live canine distemper vaccine.
